Dianne Gamblin
Stake YW President
Dianne is energetic and passionate about almost everything including writing, piano, Pilates, cooking, and nature; oh, and whipped cream. She loves whipped cream. But something you won’t find on her list--professional hockey and science fiction movies.
Meanwhile, something noteworthy about Dianne, she is the reigning champion of the Fourth Grade multiplication test at Wilson School in Gridley, CA, where her speed record still stands after more than 40 years. This mathematical skill comes in handy on shopping trips to the family cabin in Lake Shasta.
She adores her husband Doug, and looks forward to many long, happy and expensive years renovating their ideal little house in Walnut Creek. She was called as Stake Young Womens President last September, and has never been happier to serve. She tries to live by the mantra from a favorite scripture in Doctrine & Covenants 98:1: "Verily I say unto you my friends, fear not, let your hearts be comforted; yea, rejoice evermore, and in everything give thanks".

Q. What are you looking forward to sharing, the most, with your brothers and sisters at Stake Conference?
A. I want them to know that they can always pray for answers, even when their lives are in shambles.
Q. How do you want them to feel when they leave that day (Sunday)?
A. I want them to always feel that they can turn to God for help.
Q. Why do you think Stake Conference (or the subject matter you've been assigned) is important?
A. Some people don't feel like prayers always work. However, I want them to continue to pray with a sincere heart, because Heavenly Father is always listening.
Q. Do you have a favorite scripture hero? How about favorite scripture?
A. David, because he took out Goliath. My favorite scripture is Matthew 7:7-8.
Q. Where were you born and raised?
A. I was born and raised 12 out of my 16 years in Walnut Creek, and the other 4 years, in Antioch.
Q. What are you hoping to become in the future (professionally or otherwise)?
A. I want to become either a registered nurse or a commercial pilot or an LDS counselor.
Q. What are some fun facts about you that others may not know?
A, I have rock solid abs.
Q. If you could host a "Teen Talk Show", what would the subject be about and why?
A. My show would be called "How To Talk To Women" because I've struggled in the past with this topic and its time to let my knowledge flourish to all awkward young men who are super nervous around "that one cute girl, in that class" you awkwardly stare at.
Q. What are you passionate about?
A. Water polo, wrestling, and of course... girls.
Q. Are you planning to serve a mission someday? If yes, and you could choose your destination, where would you choose?
A. I am planning on serving a mission and I would want to serve in Japan because I've been taking Japanese, as a class, for almost three years now. I love the people, the food, and most importantly, the bidets.

My family and I immigrated to Seattle from Hong Kong when I was 7 years old. My mother brought me and my sister to church every Sunday. Unfortunately, she became too busy with work and we could not attend church as often. When I came to Oakland from Seattle 2 years ago for graduate school, I was blessed with the positive influence of a few Mormon classmates. I was baptized in February 2017 after over 6 months of investigation at the Berkeley YSA ward.
Ted & Kathy Frandsen Oakland-SF Mission President
Ted Heber Frandsen, 56, and Kathryn Evenson Frandsen, five children, Highland 1st Ward, Highland Utah South Stake: California Oakland/San Francisco Mission, succeeding President A. Jerry Meredith and Sister Kathy Meredith. Brother Frandsen is a former stake presidency counselor, bishop, ward Young Men president, temple ordinance worker, and missionary in the Texas Dallas Mission. Self-employed land developer and retired colonel, Army National Guard. Born in American Fork, Utah, to Melvin Vern Frandsen and Mary Emma Carson Frandsen.
Sister Frandsen serves as a ward compassionate service coordinator and is a former stake Primary presidency counselor, ward Young Women and Primary president, ward Relief Society presidency counselor, and missionary in the Bolivia La Paz Mission. Born in Monticello, Utah, to Leroy Moroni Evenson and Carolee Nordgren Evenson.
Sister Frandsen’s Favorite Scripture: D&C 84: 85
For Me: I’ve had the blessing of working many hours with missionaries in their proselyting efforts. I’ve tracted and contacted people on the streets for many hours. The message of Jesus Christ I’ve had to offer them has been accepted by some people but rejected by most. I am grateful and find strength and faith in the promises of the Savior, as found in Luke 6: 22-23.
